When you turn in your completed assignment, you will receive a certificate, prize, and
badge. You will be recognized on June 5, 2015 at the End of Grade Awards Ceremony.
Individual Challenge - Activity: Complete one activity. Write about how you can
reuse items instead of throwing them away. You may turn in your project to be displayed
*Create a recycled item, artwork, or sculpture that can be used in the recycled
*Collect recyclable items for one week. Record your results. Display your results
on a bar graph.
*Write five ways you can conserve water or energy.
*Build a potato battery, wind powered car, solar powered robot, or a working
Individual Challenge - Research: Answer one question within your grade level.
3rd-5th grade students are expected to use complete sentences and/or detailed paragraphs.
Pre-K & K: Pick one household item that you normally throw away or recycle (cardboard
box, plastic container, etc.). Write three ways you can reuse or make it into something else.
1st & 2nd: Draw and name three solar powered items.
3rd - 5th: Name three artists who used recycled materials for their work. What materials
do they use? Why do you like their art?
