3D printing allows students to turn their creative concepts into reality. Outside of schools, engineers are using 3D printing to save lives and protect the environment. Here is a list of how 3D printing is changing the world around us:
1) TeVido BioDevices is making products to help heart patients by making grafts or implants.
2) Musical instruments: Artists are able to customize their instruments.
3) Aerojet Rocketdyne is set to produce 3D-printed rocket engine injector for NASA. 3D printing may take us into space.
4) KOR EcoLogic’s Urbee is relying on 3D printing. Will you soon own a 3D car and live in a 3D house?

This is a great way for students to learn STEM concepts through hands on activities.
During the Meet the Teacher event, we held our first Family STEM Challenge. Families got to learn more about animal tracks. They had to figure out what animal left a track at Kingswood. Everyone discovered more about the squirrel.
Congratulations to the Fernando family. They won a gift bag. They will have fun on a nature trail with a bug collecting kit, magnifying glass, and binoculars.
The next Family STEM Challenge will be on September 16th at the PTA meeting and Open House. We look forward to seeing you there!
