STEM is alive and well at Kingswood Elementary School! Students in grades K-5 complete a Project Based Learning unit every quarter. A few weeks ago students showcased their projects to all students with a rotation throughout the building during the school day.
It was amazing to hear students explain the engineering design process and how much they had learned. In the evening, families were invited to participate in engineering exploration activities including: pipe leaner tower construction, Lego construction, paper airplane challenge, ramp and roll, and a boat float challenge.
Our STEM exhibits included: The Town of Cary traffic engineers, NC State Veterinary School, Town of Cary storm water management engineer, STEM for Kids, and CyberKids Robotics.
It was a wonderful fun-filled night where everyone learned something new :-)
